MOMOKO TAMURA JEWELLERY

It seems that I am always talking about cool staff in jewellery instead of having a real whole eye on fashion in general and all the wearable sphere.
But I cannot wait more to show you this new discover I did together with my bestfriend and collegue V. while we were walking around covent garden last week.
We went to this faboulous shop called BEYOND THE VALLEY 2 Newburgh Street, and we jumped into these beautiful handmade creations by the ex student of Central Saint Martins MOMO TAMURA and her MOMOCREATURA;

Momo studied fine arts and jewellery making in Japan and graduated MA Design: jewellery at Centaral Saint Martins College of Arts & Design.

Her jewellery explores the boundaries between reality and fantasy through the depiction of fairy-tale inspired images. Influenced by European antique jewellery of the 16th-19th century and post-war Japanese sub culture, her references combine to create figurative macabreobjects.

They are more like 3D illustration or wearable miniature sculptures rather than fashionable jewellery.The silver and gold pieces are finely handcrafted assemblages of child-like imagination, suggestive of ambiguous, twisted humour.

Me and V. felt in love with all those little macabre dead animals speared into silver rings, or earring or beautiful but always macabres necklaces.

APPEAL TO THE EYE loves MOMOCREATURA
